Agents that answer first.
Copilot Studio agents, explained.
Copilot Studio is Microsoft’s platform for building AI agents grounded in your own content. An agent reads a defined set of sources — a policy library, a SharePoint site, a Dataverse table — and answers from those, not from the open internet or whatever a model remembers.
The useful agents do more than answer. They raise the request, check the record, or start the workflow, so the question ends with something done rather than a reply.
Getting an agent answering takes an afternoon. Getting one people still use in three months takes grounding, citations, escalation to a person, and someone reviewing the questions it couldn’t answer. That is the part we build.
Signs it’s the right tool
- The same questions reach HR, IT or payroll every week
- Answers exist in documents nobody can find
- Staff interrupt a senior person to ask how something is done
- Customers or suppliers phone to ask for a status
- You tried a chatbot and it guessed
What we build with Microsoft Copilot Studio.
Policy and HR agents
Leave, expenses and policy questions answered from the current documents, with the clause cited.
IT and operations help desks
Triage, known fixes and ticket creation, escalating to a person when it can’t resolve.
Supplier and customer agents
Invoice, order and booking status answered from live data, on a portal or in Teams.
Knowledge and SOP agents
How-to answers from procedures, so expertise stops living in one person’s head.

What it costs.
Build cost
From $10,000 for a scoped build
A single agent over one well-organised content source sits at the lower end; agents that act in several systems, or serve customers outside the business, sit higher. Content clean-up is often the larger part of the work and is scoped in the audit.
Timeline: Four to six weeks for most agents, including a supervised pilot.
Licensing
- Copilot Studio is licensed separately from Microsoft 365, by capacity. Usage-based billing is available, which suits a pilot.
- Agents used inside Teams by staff with Microsoft 365 Copilot licences have different entitlements; we confirm the cheapest route for your user numbers before scoping.
Microsoft Copilot Studio, answered.
01What can Copilot Studio actually do?
It builds agents that answer from content you choose — SharePoint, documents, Dataverse, websites — and take actions through Power Automate, such as raising a request or checking a record. It works inside Teams, on a website or in Microsoft 365 Copilot.
02Will the agent make things up?
A properly built agent answers only from its grounded sources, cites them, and says when it doesn’t know — escalating to a person instead of guessing. Most bad experiences come from agents built without those guardrails.
03How is this different from Microsoft 365 Copilot?
Microsoft 365 Copilot is a general assistant across your own files and email. A Copilot Studio agent is purpose-built for one job, grounded in a controlled set of sources, and can act in your systems. They complement each other.
04What does Copilot Studio cost?
It is licensed by capacity rather than per user, with usage-based options for pilots. The build is scoped separately, from $10,000. We give you both figures before you commit.
05Is our data used to train the model?
No. Copilot Studio runs inside Microsoft’s enterprise commitments for your tenant; your content is not used to train the underlying models.
