The problem
Engineers recorded time on paper and in personal spreadsheets, then admin staff re-keyed it at month end to build invoices. The month-end close consumed most of a week, and every re-key was a chance to lose billable hours.
What we did

Built a canvas app for time capture that works offline on site and syncs when back in range.

Moved project and rate data into Dataverse so the app validates against live records.

Automated approval routing to the project lead, with reminders for anything outstanding.

Generated the month-end billing pack directly from approved entries.
Where it landed
Time is captured once, at the point of work, and flows through approval into billing without re-entry.
